Press Releases
The developers of the I-74 Technology Park, Bettendorf, announced today the signing of an agreement with LEDS AMERICA to move their high tech manufacturing company to the Park. Alan Frankel, co-developer, stated LEDS will be opening in a temporary facility in Bettendorf within the next 40 days. Frankel continued that the planning and design of a new permanent building has begun. It is projected construction will begin in the summer of 2013. Frankel further stated that the EXTRAORDINARY efforts by Doug Borgeson, Northwest Bank & Trust, the City of Bettendorf, and Bi-State Metropolitan Commission were instrumental in bringing LEDS AMERICA, Inc. to Bettendorf and the Quad Cities.

The LEDS facility will be built in phases with an ultimate projection of a $10-12 Million, 50-60,000 sq. foot building with an estimated 130 to 150 high tech jobs. Frankel continued, we expect one or more vendors who service LEDS AMERICA will be moving to the I-74 Tech Park to provide "just in time" delivery of components and supplies. These companies may come from as far away as Singapore and Hong Kong. Frankel further stated, "this is a critical first step in what we hope will open new growth for the Quad Cities."

Joel Westermarck, president of LEDS America, expressed his appreciation and satisfaction with effort and cooperation to bring LEDS America to Bettendorf.

Joe Slavens, President of Northwest Bank and Trust Company commented, "As a locally owned community bank, the core of our work with businesses is to help new companies get off the ground and to invest in the growth of those that are already established. It is gratifying to see companies like LEDS America decide to be part of the Quad Cities. We are happy to have provided not just the financing, but the financial advisory services necessary to bring these additional jobs to our area."

Leds America, Inc. launches the greenest standard replacement bulb.

ECO friendly light bulb which is fully recyclable, saves 90% in energy, has a lifetime over 5 years at affordable prices.

Jupiter , FL July 10, 2010 – Leds America, Inc. a breakthrough in developing a LCC- LED Cluster Chip technology light source to replace incandescent bulbs.

The lumens output equivalent to a 60W standard bulb is replaced by a 6W Led-O, which will save 90% of the energy used currently. Combined the features will save over 90% of the energy used in standard bulb, and 50% compared to a CFL, emitting no UV light and having no mercury.

The Led-O is 100% recyclable, its life time is over 5 years, works in -40 degree temperature and is practically unbreakable. Current products include replacements for 60W and have color temperatures 3000 and 6000K.

“Our team of experts discovered a way to create a LCC light source that has a life of over 5 years, is recyclable, contains no glass, has no fragile parts, uses no gases and works in virtually any temperature. We were told this was not possible, but did not give up in our product development and finally solved all the problems” says Joel Westermarck from Leds America, Inc.

“We are also in the process of developing manufacturing plants right here in the United States with the help and cooperation of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers” said Mr. Westermarck. “Now you save when you go green” he adds.

The lights will be marketed under the Led-O brand name which will be featured on www.LedsAmerica.com .

Led-O is the first one to offer Eco friendly, light that is affordable, lasts for 10 years saving 90% of energy.

Eco friendly LED technology

Affordable and bright light

Fits in standard fixtures and lamps

Guaranteed for 50,000 hrs 24/7, that’s over 10 years in normal use.

Led-O is unbreakable and can be used with any voltage 85-265 V

Breakthrough; Energy use of T8 light tubes now down to 14.6 W and breaks 100Lm/watt barrier.

New standard for 4ft T8 light tubes is now 14.6 W, 1400 directional lumens according to LM-79 tests.

Jupiter , FL July 13th , 2010 – Leds America, Inc. is launching a new Led-O tube to replace fluorescent T8 and T12 tubes.

The standard fluorescent tube can now be replaced by a 14.6W Led-O in existing fixtures after removing the ballast. The downward directed lumens output is equivalent to the fluorescent tubes as half of its lumens output is lost. This will save over 65% of energy used for lights and 40% of heat that needs to be cooled down by air conditioning.

“The ROI will be several hundreds of percent over the lifetime of the product and payback time is 1-3 years depending on the cost per KWH” says Joel Westermarck , CEO of Leds America, Inc. “Businesses will start saving and improving their cash-flow immediately, even when they use our leasing program. This is the best investment out there”.

Leds America develops and manufactures the proprietary power supplies and tubes under the name of Led-O and is planning to start manufacturing in the US within this year.

The Led-O T8 tube emits no UV light, contains no mercury or any other hazardous vapors, is 100% recyclable, its life time is over 5 years which is warranted, works in -40 degree temperature and is practically unbreakable. Color temperatures offered are 3000K, 4000k and 6000K for normal and high ceiling versions and a voltage range from 85V to 277V.

“The crucial barrier of 100Lm/W is history as the tube actually gets brighter by 12% over the first 1000 hrs. We have the Department of Energy’s Lighting Facts label and LM-80 to back up the claim” Joel Westermarck states. “Go green and save is now the concept”.

The products are marketed under the Led-O brand name which are featured on www.LedsAmerica.com.

New Energy Saving LED Tube Replaces Fluorescent Lighting

LEDs America, Inc.™. is proud to introduce a real alternative to fluorescent lighting: its new LED tubes, which contain absolutely no mercury, do not emit UV radiation and are truly energy saving, lasting six times as long as fluorescent bulbs.

Jupiter, FL (PRWEB) March, 2009 – LEDs America, Inc.™., http://www.ledsamerica.com, is proud to announce a real alternative to fluorescent lighting: its new Led-O™ LED tubes, which are both energy saving and safe. Led-O™ tubes use 40 to 70-percent less energy and last six times as long as fluorescent bulbs. They are also environmentally friendly and do not contain dangerous mercury or emit infrared or ultraviolet radiation. LEDs America is offering a product that finally retrofits old 4” fluorescent fixtures and gives off enough light to no longer be considered merely decorative.

“Up until now, most LED’s only put out 800 to 1,200 Lumens. Led-O tubes give off 2,000 to 2,400 Lumens,” says Michael Conner of LEDs America, Inc.™. And even with the increased light output, the tubes remain cool to the touch.

There are many other plusses, which include:
  • Durability – LED-O bulbs do not break easily and have a high tolerance to vibration
  • Not Sensitive to Cold – LED’s perform well in temperatures from -40C° to 185C°, making them ideal for applications subject to frequent on-off cycling, such as garages and basements
  • Directional distribution of light – good for interior task lighting
  • Substantial savings on maintenance costs – thus ROI is 12 months, or so.
  • Fully dimmable – LED’s do not change their color tint when dimmed unlike incandescent lamps that turn yellow
  • No frequency interference – no ballast to interfere with radio and television signals
  • Environmentally friendly – LED’s do not contain Mercury, Argon, Xenon, Neon or Krypton gases
  • Safe – LED’s do not emit infrared or ultraviolet radiation
  • Light up immediately
  • Easily disposed
LED lamps have a higher initial cost, but the long term savings will more than make up for it. They are available in tubes, bulbs and light bars. Prices start at $69.95 for a 4' tube.
